A Fresh Start

A Fresh Start - 1

I always regretted quitting playing the violin. It's been 10 years since I last touched an instrument; but last week, I decided to do something I wanted to do for quite a while and started to take violin lessons again. 10 years is a long time and obviously I've forgotten more than I've learned about the skill. I basically started from the very beginning again - and the beginning of everything gives me headaches, be it a course, relationship or speech. But this will be a fresh start and I'm happy with it.

(Also, I'm being a lazy blogger lately, but well. I'm coughing my lungs out for the past few days and I don't see a better day on the horizon so skipping the photography makes me only a little bit guilty.)

A new bag always goes well with a new start. I've been looking for a decent bag for spring/summer and everything striped works for me. And I'm Marry Poppins when it comes to fitting stuff into bags; so it being not gigantic but large enough to hold all my things makes me love it already.

  1. I admire you re-learning this skill once again. And the bag is pretty perfect too.

  2. Congrats with your decision to play violin again! I always wanted to play violin, until I discover that I have no skills in playing any instruments :( Yet again, it is the coolest looking instrument I think (cello too!).

    + beautiful bag for spring!

  3. Congratulations on taking up the violin again! Good luck with your studies! I definitely regret giving up music lessons (probably about 10 years ago too!) - I think I was too young to appreciate them then, but I would now! Maybe I'll have to think about doing similar!

  5. It's funny you say this because I too played violin from when I was in elementary school until I went to college. I stopped because I thought I was never good at it compared to my peers yet I can't help wondering if I never stopped, how much better I would be now. Looking back I wasn't bad at all but I was just comparing myself with people who I looked up to.

I say start it up again!!

    1. that's what I thought too! I'd be playing violin for almost a good 20 years now and I'd be a pro. But all I can do now is to start again and not give up this time. So in the future, I won't be saying 'what if I didn't quit..'
