St Petersburg (2)

These are the images from the Summer Palace which is known as Peterhof Palace. It is out of city, in a lovely town and the roads were just as sweet. The gardens of the palace were made to be copies of Versailles gardens so you can imagine what a beauty the place was. Photography was sadly not allowed in the palace but everything is preserved wonderfully and it's hard not to admire the wonderful fabrics and artwork. Plus, the tour inside the palace is very 'intense' as you keep moving in herds and not very much allowed to kill time around and enjoy the place; because the halls are incredibly narrow and once you stop to make some detailed deductions, you stand in the way of too many people who are eager to see around.

The weather was wonderful and we are told that it was our luck because apparently St Petersburg has only 39 sunny days in a year (statistically speaking of course) and it started to rain the morning we left for Moscow. But I'm just glad that we got to see the Summer Palace and the beautiful gardens with stunning Baltic Sea view under a bright light.

I will need a life time of therapy to get over the amount of beauty in this place.

The security looks awfully flattered.

Next stop will be my favorite palace; stay tuned for some serious Romanov fangirling.

Have a non-depressing Monday and a good week.

  1. Beautiful architecture and colour - everything looks so pristine. No wonder I like those gardens - Versailles is one of my favourite places.
