Foggy Days

Other Lives - Black Tables

It's finally the less shiny and more foggy days and I am pleased. Too much sunshine reminds me of the people who poke your arm all the time and ask you why you're not as cheerful as them. But the cold is sincere; it leaves you be and doesn't force you to do stuff, be active and well dressed and polished. It's the comfort food and nice hot drinks. Summer time is the adorable needy jumpy puppy; cold weather is the cat who can't just give a damn about you until he wants to cuddle.

I like cold.

How are you enjoying the week?

PS: Recently Kater mentioned that her blog is becoming a weather blog. I can relate to that; sadly all I do is whine about the weather until it's cold enough, and celebrate when it's finally single digit degrees we see on the forecast. I'm not sure if it's annoying or not. Oh well.

Françoise Hardy - Mon amie la rose

Hello autumn, we've been expecting you.

It's finally my favourite weather. Happy about my new records. Having a good hair day and spending some quiet time.

Gal Pals' Museum Sunday

It's a Monday and after completing my weekly routine of watching Olan Rogers' Monday story; I'm making a museum post.

We've spent this unnecessarily sunny Sunday at one of my favorite places in the city, looking at old things (which is my favorite thing to do). Çengelhan Museum is not a huge one but I love the collection and the place is incredibly beautiful. (It also comes with an excellent brasserie and a rustic cocktail bar, what's not to love?) I never know when to stop when I have a camera in my hand and I frequently end up with more photos than I can share so the eliminating process was a hard one. Enjoy x

This is one of the first flags of Turkish Republic ever made and I found it fascinating because first flags are great.

Atatürk's closet is one of my favorite things ever and I am sad because this country will probably never see a classy, well dressed and elegant ruler as he was.

Miniature toys are wonders to me and I could fill my entire apartment up with tiny chairs, tea sets and sewing machines if I could.

This cracked me up; I can't help but come up with silly reasons for this sign, each one dirtier than another. Oops.

I will ignore the fact that today is Monday and I'll get on with my writing. I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year and if you don't know what that is, visit this link and learn about it.

For me it means that I'll be suffering for the rest of the month and hopefully have something worthy of editing by December. The novel is a mess right now, except the very general outline; but I have things in mind and I think I'll end up writing much more than 50,000 words just because. The novel will obviously be in Turkish but I really want to have it in English too and I wonder how many re-writes are waiting for me; I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I hope you never come across with people who keep saying "Remember, remember, the 5th of November." today and have a nice enough week that you won't wish to stab every living thing by this weekend. xx
