My Sheltering Umbrella

Rain

I just like walking under the rain. It's one of the only times I can be with myself outside without feeling self-conscious. Everybody is too busy running away from the rain that nobody ever pays attention to you. And it's very liberating, especially for a person who finds herself in awkward situations when she's introduced to human interaction.

I am just not very good at handling social life, lol. And I can't help but laugh like a lunatic when I remember my teenager years because I used to define myself as a "people person"

Yeah, right.

Rain Rain Rain Rain
Rain Rain Rain Rain Rain

Have a great week, y'all. xxx

Hello all!

As you migth have noticed, I took a little break from the blog. I don't have a good reason for this except the fact that, lately, I wasn't willing to take photos and/or write posts. I didn't want to keep this doing because I had to (since I don't have to) so I let it sit and simmer while I killed time.

I was in Moscow during New Year's Eve and I had a wonderful week there. As a hardcore winter person, the freezing weather and snow was thrilling. Walking on the icy pavement was as hard as communicating with the locals; but we managed both.

I watched Nutcracker at Bolshoi Theatre (I KNOW) in awe the entire time, I had a wonderful Stroganoff at Bosco Cafe once again, drank unspeakable amounts of Earl Grey at the tea room of Hotel National, wandered and window-shopped at the halls of GUM, watched the ice skaters at Gorki Park, enjoyed the gloomy back alleys that looked like a scene of a film noir and admired the metro stations over and over again. I already miss how massive and beautiful the buildings were and how wide the sky was. (I also miss the ridiculously tasty berry crepe of Bosco Cafe but that's another thing.)

I have a lot of photos and as I always, I've selected quite a few of them. Instead of posting them in batches, I'll pile them all in one post right here. Scroll down for the winter time Moscow, which basically looks like a cartoon scene when it's snowing. xx

I am seriously considering a train trip across Syberia in winter. The railroad was lovely.
